Transaction support for €1.92 billion energy sector deal
Ramboll assisted NGF Partnership K/S, the main shareholders in Nature Energy, with the preparation of comprehensive commercial, technical, and environmental due diligence reports, populating the data room, and conducting expert Q&A sessions during the bidding throughout the sales process to Shell plc. This €1.92 billion transaction marked a significant milestone for the Danish-based biogas generation and distribution company, further enabling the widespread adoption of its climate-friendly technology.
Ramboll’s multidisciplinary consultancy services offered a one-stop-shop approach, continuing a relationship with Nature Energy that spans over a decade.
Nature Energy, one of Europe’s largest biogas producers, operates from Denmark and aimed to supply biogas to 200,000 households over the coming years by constructing 30 new biogas facilities across Europe and North America alongside their existing 14. The recent sale to Shell positions Nature Energy for robust global expansion.
Biogas production from various types of waste supports Denmark’s energy security and offers green, CO2-neutral energy. As of 2023, biogas constituted 30% of the Danish gas supply, emphasising its essential role in sustainable energy practices.
